Central Missouri Honor Flight 2011

On Tuesday night, the veterans aboard the 2011 Honor Flight arrived in Columbia to a cheering crowd filled with friends, family, students of Mizzou and community members.
Central Missouri Honor Flight is a non-profit organization honoring America's veterans for all their sacrifices they have made for their country. Honor Flight's top priority is to give back to senior veterans who are either WWII survivors or other veterans who may be terminally ill.

This organization stresses how WWII was the war in recent memory that truly threatened our very existence as a nation. It is now our time to express our thanks and gratitude towards these brave men and women for everything they have done for us.

Last year, Honor Flight was a beneficiary of Greek Week. With the donations that the Greek Community helped to raise, Central Missouri Honor Flight was able to fund 24 Honor Flights for veterans to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Central Missouri Honor Flight was selected once again as one of the 14 beneficiaries for Greek Week 2011. The grouping of Kappa Alpha Theta, Phi Kappa Theta, Acacia and Sigma Tau Gamma have been fortunate enough to work with the organization and interact with the veterans throughout the last few weeks.
Steering Committee 2011
We are so happy with the turnout of people who came to support our veterans at Honor Flight. Greek Week Steering Committee hopes that the excitement and spirit of giving continues towards our other 13 beneficiaries.
